Costa Rican Chronicles: Week 3
By Ronan Lurkin
As the waves began to take shape, our crew was beyond the normal level of stoked. Surfing in the morning and the doing our usual afternoon adventure brought us upon a grom named Damon.
We were out playing soccer at the local pitch when Damon courageously walked up to us and asked to play. After giving us all a run for our money we parted ways leaving him with a smile, a new soccer ball, and more importantly new friends. For all of us, meeting Damon showed us the true value behind traveling. It’s about immersing yourself in the culture you are surrounded by and living in the moment. As we continued our week with this new value instilled in our heads, we went to find a secluded bay surrounded by cliffs and went on a short hike in the cloud forest. And to cap the week off, we went to the local bar and experienced a Costa Rican beach party and once again met new friends and had the time of our lives.
